Our first foal has arrived!

At 2.15 this morning our foundation mare gave birth to our first foal. She gave us a lovely filly foal that will grey out.

The birth was lovely to watch and straight forward. Once foal has been registered we will announce the name.

Prefix

I am so happy at the moment. We put forward my 3 choices for my prefix and I have waited and checked every day to find out which one got put forward.
I am not the most patient one for things like this and it has been nail biting.
Well we finally received good news. We got the one we wanted 'KCA' and what makes it even more special is that it was registered on 18th of March our anniversary

Not long now

Hi all,

It's not long now till our very first foal is on the ground. Our mare is about three weeks away from foaling date.

She is beginning to get a much larger tummy and is starting to 'bag up' nicely. Yesterday we moved her back to the 'nursery' to get her all settled in.

She was good as gold to move, a little stressed when we got there to begin with but nothing over the top and once she realised there was plenty of hay well that was it she went straight to eating!!

Now it's just waiting!

182 days

Another little size guide. I can not belive the foal will be this size already! It is crazy to think this is what it will be already. And yet still so long away

164 days in

Yes its 164 days in. Mother to be is doing well so far. Getting a bit of a grass belly on her but I don't mind as winter is starting to come in now and she always drops over winter.
Not only that but Jelly bean will be need all the extra help. My partner found a love site show what stages she is in so I naturally had to share the picture.
How could I resist?

Rest in peace sweet boy

Last week, my friend who owned the stallion I used on our beloved mare was laid to rest.

It was a sad ending to life he was just beginning in the UK with her. My heart goes out to her at this sad and tragic time.

Hopefully we can make her proud when 'Jelly bean' gets here and shows her that not all is lost and that his babies will lay a legacy after him.

Home safely

Today is a fantastic day. Our much loved mare is back home safe and sound. She travelled home brilliantly after not want to load correctly.

It was as though she never left. Straight in the field and head down eating. So proud of her
