164 days in

Yes its 164 days in. Mother to be is doing well so far. Getting a bit of a grass belly on her but I don't mind as winter is starting to come in now and she always drops over winter.
Not only that but Jelly bean will be need all the extra help. My partner found a love site show what stages she is in so I naturally had to share the picture.
How could I resist?

Rest in peace sweet boy

Last week, my friend who owned the stallion I used on our beloved mare was laid to rest.

It was a sad ending to life he was just beginning in the UK with her. My heart goes out to her at this sad and tragic time.

Hopefully we can make her proud when 'Jelly bean' gets here and shows her that not all is lost and that his babies will lay a legacy after him.

Home safely

Today is a fantastic day. Our much loved mare is back home safe and sound. She travelled home brilliantly after not want to load correctly.

It was as though she never left. Straight in the field and head down eating. So proud of her

40 day scan

I have had just the most wonderful conversation today from the stallion owner. Today is the 40 day scan to make sure everything is as it should be. It is confirmed that my lovely mare is infoal. Foal is attached firmly to the uterus. So it is now safe to transport her her which I am so looking forward to as I have missed her dearly. I now just need to arrange a time to pick her up.

Not only did the stallion owner give me the great news but she also sent me this wonderful picture. It may not be much but it means a lot to me.

Here it is the little jelly bean

First scan

Well today was a very exciting and emotional day. Today is the day that our foundation mare got scanned to see if she is infoal.

With great pleasure we were informed that she is infoal. We have made the decision to leave her at the stud a little longer so we can scan her again for a heartbeat before travelling her home.

Obviously it is a very exciting time for us right now as it will be our first foal. As much as we are excited we are fully aware that things can happen along the way. So fingers crossed that we hear a little healthy and strong heartbeat soon.

New signage

We are very lucky people. It may only be small but to us but it means more. A very generous and lovely kind friends of ours has done us a great gift. Presenting us with new signage for our trailer. They even put it on there for us.

Not only have they gone out of their way to make this for us but they have also put it on our trailer.

I could not be happier with it right now. Yet again one lucky and extremely happy girl!

A big thank you to Maureen and Eric x

It begins

So we sent our darling girl, our foundation mare to stud on the 28th of April. Although it has been a life long dream and there has been lots of planning and talking. It was 'D Day' and left me with mixed emotions as the dream was starting to actually become reality.

I was and am happy to leave her at the stud as it is fantastic stud and the stud owner is wonderful and such a lovely person. I trust her judgment and I know she will take the best care of my little girl.

It still pulled my heart strings leaving her there. I will admit I do not leave the ponies very often, so to take my girl somewhere and leave her (even if it is for such a wonderful journey), it left me slightly emotional. But i know for my dream to become true she had to go there as it would not happen magically.

She got covered on the 4th and 7th of May inhand and is left running with the lovely gentleman with plenty of grass. So it is more or less a romantic holiday for her. I now just have to wait and see if she has taken or whether she comes into season. We shall have to wait and see. Fingers and toes crossed.

Welcome

Welcome to our new blog. This site will be dedicated to Kendalcourt Arabians which is a new up and coming Arabian horse stud based in Nottinghamshire, UK. Where we will be breeding for our own private use. You will be able to get a look inside as we start up our new little stud and join in with our highs and lows and our little adventures.

Whilst we are taking off you may have to bare in mind that the blog may be slow to begin with until things get up and running but we will try to keep you up to date with any changes that occur.

Hope you enjoy
